CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Laboratory managers, scientists and technicians can now operate all their instruments using the same familiar software package with a new release of Thermo Scientific Dionex Chromeleon 7.2 Chromatography Data System (CDS) Service Release 1. The software now supports liquid and ion chromatography as well as gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Thermo Fisher Scientific will showcase the Chromeleon CDS at booth #2441 during Pittcon 2014, being held at McCormick Place in Chicago from March 2 - 6.

“Last year at Pittcon, we bridged the chromatography-mass spectrometry gap with the Chromeleon 7.2 CDS for GC-MS,” said Christoph Nickel, global software marketing director, chromatography, for Thermo Fisher. “Customer interest has been overwhelming, and this year we’re taking it to the next level by adding control of Thermo Scientific LC-MS instrumentation. With this new release, we’re responding to growing customer demand to apply high-sensitivity, information-rich MS techniques for quantitative applied analyses. Chromeleon CDS’s ease-of-use makes mass spec technology more accessible for routine operation.”
The latest version of the software adds full control for the Thermo Scientific MSQ single quadrupole system, TSQ Quantiva and Endura triple quadrupole instruments as well as the company’s benchtop Orbitrap-based high-resolution accurate mass instruments. This release enables CDS users to realize the benefits of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s LC-MS instrumentation in a familiar software environment with full scalability, remote access to instruments and data, and compliance with GLP, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
Because lab personnel need to learn only one software package for a variety of chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments, laboratories can greatly reduce training requirements while improving productivity and the quality of results. The software also features one-click eWorkflows, designed to help users dramatically reduce method development time and quickly run and analyze samples, and built-in spreadsheet-type reporting to eliminate the need to export data.
Chromeleon 7.2 is designed around the concept of operational simplicity, to make it easy to move from samples to results. Microsoft®’s .NET architecture makes this latest generation CDS able to accommodate future needs.
