New Product Launches at Analytica 2014
The company unveiled several new products to help laboratories manage their samples and data more effectively and efficiency. Among the new introductions at this year’s Analytica are:
- An intuitive rheometer, the Thermo Scientific HAAKE Viscotester iQ, which allows users to optimize the correct sample-testing procedure;
- The Thermo Scientific Nunclon Sphera, a new non-adherent cell culture surface that accelerates cancer research by modeling cancer cell growth;
- The Thermo Scientific E1-ClipTip electronic pipette, which allows users to transfer multiple samples between different labware formats using one pipette;
- The Thermo Scientific SampleSeal instrument, which prepares samples for long-term storage by creating sealed arrays that can be analyzed or used individually; and
- The Thermo Scientific Lab Execution System (LES), which gives customers in QA/QC and analytical labs complete control of their methods and SOPs and expands the Thermo Fisher’s informatics platform to deliver industry-leading paperless laboratory solutions.
European Introductions of Innovative Analytical Tools
Thermo Fisher will also showcase for the first time in Europe new laboratory products that allow customers to perform day-to-day tasks more efficiently. The Life Technologies QuantStudio 3D Digital PCR System, for example, offers researchers the ability to perform rapid, chip-based quantification of targeted DNA molecules in a small, affordable benchtop platform. The company will also demonstrate advancements in imaging, including the Thermo Scientific DXR xi Raman imaging microscope, which creates information-rich chemical images of materials, allowing customers to advance their research more quickly, while the Life Technologies EVOS FL Auto Cell Imaging System features an on-stage cell incubator designed to enable time-lapse, high-resolution live cell imaging.
Also making their European debuts are the Thermo Scientific Prima BT Benchtop Mass Spectrometer, which offers rapid and reliable gas analysis for continuous operation in process development laboratories, and the Thermo Scientific Delta Ray Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectrometer, a transportable system designed for field-based carbon dioxide research, including greenhouse gas monitoring.
Finally, Analytica 2014 also marks the European launch of Thermo Fisher’s latest mass spectrometry advances – the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Fusion and the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantiva systems. The company’s industry-leading analytical instrument platform is further enhanced by the latest release of the Thermo Scientific Chromeleon 7.2 Chromatography Data System, which now allows customers to control their mass spectrometers with their liquid, gas and ion chromatography instruments on the same software platform.
