Second Generation Cell Imaging System Enables Higher-Quality Experiments
Invitrogen Evos FL Auto 2 Imaging System incorporates faster, more robust software in a new sleek design
It requires very little training and reduces the complexity associated with traditional fluorescence microscopy, which, coupled with its speed, enables researchers to spend more time gaining insights from their experiments rather than waiting for results.

CARLSBAD, Calif.--Research scientists conducting a wide range of live cell imaging experiments can now access the next generation of a simple-to-use platform designed for a higher quality and fully automated experience making high-resolution fluorescence microscopy accessible to all laboratories.

The new Invitrogen Evos FL Auto 2 Imaging System contains a number of new enhancements, including upgraded software that provides more options to enable users to rapidly capture and analyze higher-quality images and scan up to four fluorescence colors and transmitted light. In addition to a new design featuring a 23-inch LCD monitor, the user interface has been revised with an emphasis on workflow, which can be tailored to the sample and data required for experiments, such as collecting Z-stack images in time-lapse mode. As an example, users can now define a scan area in low magnification and acquire images at higher magnification. The instrument is also compatible with the Evos Onstage Incubator to enable precise environmental control for demanding live-cell imaging experiments.

The new platform builds on the success of the original Invitrogen Evos FL Auto Imaging System, which provides researchers with a powerful automated imaging system that does not require expertise in microscopy to perform complex imaging applications. Similarly, the new Invitrogen Evos FL Auto 2 Imaging System takes up a small footprint on a lab bench top (92 cm x 92 cm, including the instrument, computer and monitor).

“The beauty of the new Evos FL Auto 2 Imaging System is its simplicity and the value it brings to all cell biology labs,” says Joydeep Goswami, vice president and general manager of Biosciences for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “It requires very little training and reduces the complexity associated with traditional fluorescence microscopy, which, coupled with its speed, enables researchers to spend more time gaining insights from their experiments rather than waiting for results.”
